Coronavirus Update #11

I was hoping that I would never have to do another Coronavirus Update.....

Over the last couple of weeks we have seen a rapid surge in patients presenting at the Wellness Center with Covid-19 related symptoms. In those couple of weeks we have swabbed 280 patients with 42 being positive for the disease. That compares to 305 tested over 2 months with 20 positive the 1st time around.

With so many symptomatic patients coming into the clinic we find that we have no choice but to go back to business as it was in March, April and parts of May and limit non-essential healthy patient visits.

Effective Monday we will be postponing all firefighter physicals and other non-essential patient visits. Fire Rescue and the Union will be putting out their own message shortly echoing their agreement.

The front desk staff will be calling all scheduled visits beginning tomorrow, and like last time we will be focusing out 1 week at a time.

We hope that this current wave will not last as long as the 1st wave did, but only time will tell.

We will continue to have a clean side to the clinic for essential visits, such as pre-ops, chronic disease consultations, medicine consults, pediatric well child vaccinations, etc. If you feel you need to be seen for a non-sick visit we will accommodate you.

A new process we have established for sick patients is to have you wait in your car after check in until your room is ready. And as before all rooms will be sanitized after each patient.

Healthy patients will be asked to enter the building by the side door, which many of you are familiar with by now.

We will continue to put out updates on the situation as necessary. Our best wishes to all of you to stay healthy and as always if you need anything please call.

As a reminder the Wellness Center hours will be 8am-7pm Monday thru Friday and 9am-4pm on SaturdayWe apologize for any inconvenience this may cause you.

Remember wash your hands frequently and practice social distancing, wear face coverings when necessary and for those of you on the trucks please use your PPE at all times and practice good hygiene!
